Statement from the Director

Annapolis, MD – Maryland Governor Hogan’s Office of Homeland Security Director Walter F. “Pete” Landon has issued the following statement regarding calls for armed marches on January 17, 2021 at state capitals around the nation to include Annapolis, MD. 

“State of Maryland law enforcement agencies remain committed to protecting the citizens and infrastructure of our great state from all threats. The Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center (MCAC) is working with our federal, state, local and private sector partners to identify and maintain situational awareness of threats and suspicious activity leading up to the January 20, 2021 Presidential Inauguration and associated special events in Maryland and the National Capital Region. We ask that you immediately report the following categories of tips, threats, and suspicious activity to your local law enforcement and the MCAC.
